Tree Walk: Oaks and Their Kin

Here’s a walk NOT focused on conifers! I think it’ll be pretty cool still.

Oaks are famously renowned trees across the northern hemisphere. However, they are only one lineage of a family filled with species of equal renown including beech, chestnut, chinkapin, and tanoak. This walk will explore Hoyt Arboretum’s collection of oaks and their closest relatives while exploring the unique traits of each lineage. We’ll discuss how they have impacted humans–and how humans have impacted them.

Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.
