Our Mission
Here at Portland Arboriculture, we value the arboreal resources that are found in and around Portland, Ore. We focus on the preservation of trees in our urban area through science-based management and experience-based education. Preserving large trees and advocating to retain space for future trees is our priority. We also strongly believe that seeing and experiencing the trees and natural areas around you is an important first step affecting changes in policy and understanding.
Our services
We put our beliefs into practice by consulting on all things tree-related including inventories and analysis, management recommendations, preservation plans, planting, and risk assessments. We are ISA Board Certified Master Arborists and focus on both your needs and what’s best for the tree.
Walks and Talks
Our main focus is in education and outreach about trees and related issues in our communities. We host fun, educational tree walks and bike rides, and partner with local organizations to lead educational courses and tours across the city. Some of our course curriculum focuses on specific topics such as tree identification, tree biology, tree risk, or pruning; these courses are geared towards the technical learner. Other courses or walks are just for fun and aim to show off amazing trees and areas in the city. These walks are geared for everyone and no technical background or ambition is needed.
