I’ll be leading a tree walk focused on how trees grow and their risks of failure! Sign up at the link below.
When: Saturday, May 4, 10 a.m. to noon
Where: Just inside Wilshire Park, at NE 34th Ave. and Skidmore Street
Sponsor: Trees for Life Oregon
Leader: Casey Clapp, Qualified Tree Risk Assessor, Portland Arboriculture
Climate-related severe weather events like the January wind and ice storm can damage or uproot some of our tallest, most iconic trees. How can we best protect them? We are delighted to have arborist Casey Clapp lead a tree walk on this topic. He will show us on-the-ground stress signs to look for and the many factors that contribute to a tree's health and stability. Register by April 26 here. We expect this to be a popular event. Note that registration will be cut off by April 26. This walk will highlight some of the issues in our feature article on the same topic.
